All google indexes were actually lost during the transition from IC -> KC, because the ICs were not issuing HTTP 301 redirects, but Dojo-based javascript redirects.

Google didn't pick up the new URLs for the old IC content, and now all those years of crawled IC content are gone from Google's index.

Hi Balázs,

Sorry for the tardy reply here! We've been busy,
Actually, the redirection of the ICs was done with 301 (permanent) HTTP redirection, as per organic Google instructions and the (good) link you provided below. There may have been some shift in Google rank on an individual IC basis, and we had some issues in indexing the resulting 180M URLs in IBM Knowledge Center, but the overall rank has been maintained, and is getting better daily as we finish the redirection.
