Today the Tivoli team in IBM is releasing a new version of Tivoli Federated Identity Manager, version 6.2.2. This has been a major work item for the team for many months, and I will be posting a series of articles over the coming weeks about our new capabilities.
The major functional additions include:
- A first steps console supporting rapid post-install federation configuration
- Support for OAuth 1.0 and 2.0 as federation protocols. TFIM now allows you to expose any web resource as OAuth-protected using a variety of web access enforcement points including Tivoli Access Manager WebSEAL, WebSphere and the Datapower appliance.
- Various minor improvements to SSO protocols and related function primarily based on customer feedback and interoperability exercises. This includes support for SHA256 in XML signatures.
The TFIM 6.2.2 Information Center containing all of our product manuals is already live.
Over the coming couple of weeks we will be releasing a series of articles on the TFIM Developerworks Wiki on formal programming integration points for TFIM's new OAuth capabilities.
There will soon be a refresh of the Demonstration Site which will contain an OAuth Service provider demo environment. I will post more about this when it goes live.
I will of course be using this blog to demonstrate some advanced use cases and provide you with sample code for a variety of different scenarios particularly related to OAuth.
In the meantime please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the OAuth capabilities or any other federation capabilities in Tivoli Federated Identity Manger 6.2.2.
