Why technical and business leaders must attend IBM Connect 2013
By Alistair Rennie, General Manager, Social Business
I'm excited that in just a few days, I'll be heading to Orlando to join many of you at IBM Connect 2013. I always look forward to this conference, and as we mark our 20th anniversary, we are pulling out all the stops -- giving you a bigger and broader conference agenda than ever before. We are bringing together both technical and business leaders from around the world as a team to understand the important role they play in transforming to a social business.
I know some have questioned whether IBM Connect will still have the deep technical content you're accustomed to receiving at Lotusphere. The answer is YES!
The Lotusphere Technical Program is an entire conference track dedicated to technical content ranging from IBM Notes and Domino, IBM Sametime, IBM SmartCloud, IBM Connections, and so much more.
- In our Wednesday general session, Nigel Beck and Kevin Cavanaugh will host the App Dev Throwdown. They will be joined by Jane McGonigal, world-renowned game designer, inventor of SuperBetter and author of Reality Is Broken, to talk about how to make work more like a game.
- Several IBM clients and partners will share their personal journey to becoming a social business and a smarter workforce.
- We're bringing in over 200 developers, engineers, architects and product managers from the IBM technical team who will be available for one-on-one meetings in the labs and in the Ask the Developer and Ask the Product Manager sessions.
We also have a great line-up of business leaders.
During our general sessions, industry leaders like Josh Bersin from Bersin & Associates and Ray Wang from Constellation Research will share industry insights. Plus, author, actor and humorist John Hodgman will interview Steven Strogatz , Jacob Gould Schurman Professor of Applied Mathematics at Cornell University, the familiar face from the PC in Apple's PC vs. Mac smack down ads and resident expert on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. This promises to be an informative, but entertaining conversation.
- We also will introduce Kenexa and our plans to help you secure the top talent and maximize collective intelligence to build a Smarter Workforce
This is just some of what's in store for you at IBM Connect 2013. Register today and take advantage of the remaining special discounts.
I look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
