What’s fun, challenging and geeky - all at the same time?

Fun but challenging. Geeky yet cool. I must be talking about The Great Geek Challenge. Back for the third year in a row, the Great Geek Challenge is the most fun social event at IBM Connect. The event is open to anyone who wants to join in the fun, but I will warn you - seating is limited. Your best bets are to either sponsor the event or get there early!
So exactly what is it?
Simply put it’s a trivia challenge. But trust me, it’s not your average pub trivia. This is IBM Connect after all. Everyone is put into teams to compete for amazingly geeky prizes. Quiz Masters Carl Tyler and Paul Mooney abuse, errr, entertain the crowd while asking the questions. Serious geek-level trivia rounds are interspersed with spot-prize questions. No cell phones or mobile devices are allowed! (I know - I personally walked the room to be sure!)
You can get a preview of the geekery at www.greatgeekchallenge.com where there will be a few warm up rounds (and prizes) awarded before IBM Connect. You can also watch video of the event from last year, courtesy of Chris Miller.
The event is hosted by the Nerd Girls, so you can probably pick up one of our buttons if you haven’t gotten one yet. You can also go to the Nerd Girls Group to see our latest postings on Nerd Girl events, as well as answers to the online quiz! (There may even be some pictures from previous years.)
Head over to The Fountain Restaurant on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 8-10PM.
While you're there, check out the sponsors. Without them, there would be no event. And be sure to find Gabriella Davis and say thank you! She and the Turtle Partnership do most of the organization and put in a ton of work towards making this event happen.
One more warning - you’ll laugh so much your sides will hurt the next day!
