Time is SHORT! Get your Abstracts in for IBM Connect2013!
By Susan Bulloch, IBM Support Engineer
The call for abstracts is open, and the deadline for submissions is soon. Seriously, crazy soon. How do I know? I looked over at the IBM Connect 2013 site and saw that the deadline is November 1st. That's....wait....how many days from now? But don't panic, there's time. So what do you do now? That's easy - figure out what you want to talk about, and offer to talk about it.
The how-to-write-a-great-abstract has been covered elsewhere. Seventy-five words, start to finish, is all you get. 75.
Let's talk about tracks here.
IBM Connect 2013 is going to be full of even more technical sessions, including new Track 4 which includes the "What now?" sessions. These sessions are designed to let you share what you know about the next steps to take when, for instance, the boss comes in and says, "We need this new Social Thing, so do it" then walks out. OK, what now? A lot of us have been there. The track is open to any speakers, IBM, Partners, customers, anybody.
The popular 2-hour Jumpstart and Show-and-Tell sessions are for taking a deeper dive into a topic, and include speakers from inside and outside IBM. Best Practices, delivered primarily by non-IBMers, is back. And new Track 9 is a Spotlight on Business Partners, which will let attendees see the fantastic solutions that have been deployed by IBM Business Partners.
The 'IBM" tracks are back in force and include the tracks offered in a separate conference last year. We want everybody who has great idea to submit sessions. Be creative, work with your company, your manager, your friends and co-workers, but do it FAST!
