But what we have found, from a recent Global SaaS study conducted by the IBM Center for Applied Insights, is that nearly half of the businesses are actually achieving a competitive advantage through their investments in SaaS. Leading enterprises – those gaining competitive advantage through broad SaaS adoption – are collaborating more effectively through social business tools, improving the customer experience, and accelerating time to market through their SaaS initiatives.
So what does that mean for organizations? The study reveals that Pacesetters – enterprises that have the highest level of SaaS adoption – are gaining competitive advantage by aligning their organizations around a cohesive, enterprise-wide SaaS strategy, as well as fostering a strong IT and Line of Business (LOB) collaboration.
Take a look at some of the SaaS benefits highlighted in IBM customer case studies. The numbers speak for themselves:
20% - SafeGuard World International saw a 20% reduction in implementation time in many projects. Why? Because SaaS enabled them to increase collaboration internally and externally.
2.4% - PAC2000A increased its comparable stores sales by 2.4% after using SaaS analytics to develop more localized pricing decisions.
10% - Virgin America used SaaS Analytics to improve customer experience and increased the number of flight bookings by 10%.
So what does this mean for you?
