I hope that you all saw the Smarter Commerce general session on Tuesday morning because it was epic. After watching Craig Hayman, general manager of IBM Industry Cloud Solutions, battle a big data hose, Kenichi Ebina pop, lock and dropkick it, and an interview with Ron Howard, I was able to overcome the fact that I missed my beloved morning latte(s).
It’s all about making moments matter. Based off data from previous events, user surveys and various other sources, IBM knows that if you want to throw an event at 8:30 in the morning AND have your audience actually pay attention, then you had better make it awesome [and relevant].
How we use moments to engage with people makes the difference. We live in a social world with 140 character limits and 10 second attention spans; you can literally lose or gain loyalty in just one click or swipe. Businesses that want to be successful should be willing to continuously reinvent themselves.
Robert LeBlanc, senior vice president of IBM Software and Cloud Solutions, made this point by sharing examples of businesses that are leveraging IBM Smarter Commerce, taking advantage of the aforementioned data hose and the cloud to predict with confidence and act in real time.
Mobily, one of the fastest-growing telecommunications companies in existence, is analyzing customer behavior to create tailored customer profiles. Providing these personalized customer experiences has not only amplified their revenue, but improved customer loyalty – critical for long-term success. Another example is Ceva, where the business is now in lockstep with the entire supply chain, allowing them to scale on demand and providing visibility to the line of business.
Building off of these great examples, Robert announced IBM ExperienceOne, an integrated portfolio of cloud-based and on premise offerings that help clients quickly deliver deeper, more valuable customer engagements by bringing together marketing, sales and service practices. It’s an offering to enrich how businesses engage and collaborate with customers, which is a must for those that wish to outperform their peers.
