Today IBM announced the acquisition of Kenexa, a leading provider of recruiting and talent management solutions. IBM, a leader in social business, enterprise content management and business analytics, will work with Kenexa to build a rich employee work experience that combines human insights, talent management, and an industry-leading social business platform. This is a new market we are calling Smarter Workforce that will help our clients drive better business outcomes.
What does this mean for our customers?
The combined strengths of IBM and Kenexa are key differentiators at a time when organizations of all sizes are looking to increase workforce efficiencies and gain more insight from their rapidly expanding databases of socially generated information. In a recent study by the IBM Institute for Business Value, of more than 1,100 business executives , the percentage of companies looking to increase their social business capabilities is increasing rapidly; half of the companies surveyed increased their investments in social business in 2012, and two-thirds indicated they were going to increase their expenditures in the next two years. And this adoption of social business technology is contributing to the growth of big data and the need for analytics in the enterprise. A recent global IBM study revealed that 57 percent of CEO's identified social business as a top priority and more than 73 percent are making significant investments to draw insights into available data.
