Dear IBM Love Connections,
A month ago I was a lonely Marketing Manager, staying home every weekend with my pet iguana and my segment analysis reports. Today I am in an exciting new relationship, and I owe it all to you!
It started when I had trouble printing out a spreadsheet on tabloid-size paper instead of letter. I posted my frustrations as a Status Update on IBM Love Connections and went back to my work.
Before long I saw somebody had posted on my wall. This gentleman, let’s call him Javier, was offering to help me with my printing problem. The tone of his post was so sweet yet authoritative, I was all a-swoon. We both logged into IBM Docs at the same time and worked together on the print settings. The next thing I knew I had my 11x17 spreadsheet, and the colors have never looked so vibrant.
So how did Javier come to be my knight in shining silicon? It was you, IBM Love Connections. You analyzed my post and recognized my problem. You then used your ability to find expertise within the organization, be it in cloud computing, events management, IT support … or capturing hearts. You knew that Javier would be the one to help me with my printing problem … and so much more. You struck the match – now it was up to me to light the fuse.
But here’s where it gets even more romantic. As I struggled to find the words to post a thank-you on Javier’s profile page, I received an invitation from my responsive Romeo, my collaborating Casanova, to join his Love Connections network! Throwing caution to the wind, I opted against playing coy and waiting a few minutes, instead accepting the invitation right away and Following him as well.
Afterwards we met for coffee, discussed the finer points of printing spreadsheets, etc. We’ve been seeing each other for three weeks now. I still stay at home on weekends, but now I have someone with whom to share my segment analysis reports.
Thank you, IBM Love Connections!
