This is not the phrase that comes to mind when we think of our workplaces.
You are reading this blog, so you are probably sold on the idea of the need for social collaboration. The question is how best to implement the processes that make social collaboration a reality across the enterprise?
One way to do it – an effective way – is to add fun and games into the mix. Well, it’s not all fun and games…there is some serious stuff at work here. Actually, there is gamification at work.
And that is the story thatwill be shared tomorrow, when I will have the distinct honor of moderating Rajat Paharia (Twitter: @RajatRocks), founder and CPO of Bunchball, and Phaedra Boinodiris (Twitter: @INNOV8game), global serious games and gamification program manager for IBM and producer of the award-winning INNOV8 series of serious games, during a webinar on gamification of social collaboration.
We will start by sharing a recent gamification experience at IBM's Connect conference. The final results are still being tallied, but initial reports are confirming what those of us in attendance knew to be true: not only did gamification make the conference more fun, it also increased participation and social engagement. In fact, the amplification level of conference content was up 66 percent over last year.
