Business Women Get Social in the Cloud
Women in business are an intelligent and savvy group that relishes in helping others succeed. It seems only natural they would gravitate towards social media platforms to seek out community with other women business owners and entrepreneurs to share ideas, best practices, and gain insights for their own organizations.
At The Women's Toolbox, an online destination for business women to learn, grow, and succeed, we set out to find out how effective today's most popular social networks were working for women in business. The results were surprising. Frustrated by the changes, the rules, and the amount of time it takes to keep up with all the information needed to succeed with existing social media, only 7% of the women we surveyed were highly satisfied with the results they get using social media to grow their business and attract new clients. Only 13% reported being highly satisfied with finding the information they need to succeed on social media.
When more than 50% of the survey respondents said they were looking for an online social network with a specific focus on women in business and their needs, we took action with help from IBM.
Taking advantage of IBM SmartCloud for Social Business, the Women's Toolbox launched the first social business site designed to take women in business to the next level.
