As a competitive marketing strategist in social business I spend much of my day collaborating with our global sales, marketing and product teams. And until recently, this has meant my inbox is overwhelmed with email. Like many others I know, I have made frequent visits to "mail jail". But I think we are undergoing a dramatic cultural change. And I don't mean just in India, but rather across organizations around the globe. We are becoming less reliant on email and more dependent on enterprise social collaboration tools such as IBM Connections.
And this is a very good thing in my opinion.
When I find something that works, I want to learn more about it. And in this age of social, I like to share what I learn. While I am not an IBM Connections expert (yet), I wanted to share some of the features that have become part of my daily routine as a competitive marketer.
So, in my typical day as a marketer, Connections really helps me to simply connect quickly with my remote teams. We can share information in a social way, receive real-time input and feedback, all irrespective of time zone differences. And most importantly, we depend less on email and stay out of mail jail.
I'm always interested in learning how other teams collaborate effectively. Do you use Connections? What features do you find most useful?
