Did you catch the April ICS Community Meeting? If you caught the call, you got a quick overview of my project, social selling. If not, it's never too late to listen in to the Social CRM (customer relationship management) discussion.
I and members of the ICS team are looking at adding social features and mobile access to CRM applications to boost sales team productivity. Think of a social selling framework that allows sales teams to focus on selling rather than focusing on opportunity management. The sales team will be able to reach out to experts to assist in closing a deal through the expert finder support. IBM Connections integration allows the team to share the latest information in opportunity walls (think special activity streams), collect pertinent documents in a community, and use activities to work through putting together a solution proposal. IBM Sametime integration provides presence awareness for the sales team. Add in smartcloud support to share information with clients to build relationships.
I'm currently exploring how we can bring CRM information into the Lotus Notes environment by leveraging LiveText to directly access client, contact, and opportunity information, by enabling sales teams to log calls and associate email and calendars to CRM records without leaving Notes.
