I completely agree that program evaluation can be time consuming and complicated for an organization and for some cases cost prohibited. However, program evaluation is critical for an organization success of its programs and will aid in the discovery and development to make the necessary changes when their programs are substandard. In my profession as a Project Manager it is critical to the project’s success that were continually monitoring our performance and taking the necessary steps to make adjustments and improvements when we are not meeting expectations. We measure our performance in several stages that begin with analysis of past performance, current risk or issues, analysis of variances and forecasts in order to show our stakeholders that we are meeting and exceeding the projects expectation for scope, cost, schedule and quality. While program evaluations are demanding they are essential part of an organization and will determine if they will have success or failure. Finally, program evaluations will provide critical information to stakeholders of the projects impacts, limitations and strengths.
