I finally took my Christmas lights down.
The month is April.
I never thought that I’d be that house that has Christmas lights up months after the holidays, but in my defense this winter has been unbelievably cold. Our friendly neighborhood polar vortex has spent so much time in and around Chicago this winter that it should be made an honorary citizen. We hit a high temperature of 50 degrees the other day which might be the 3rd time of the year that it’s actually warmed up to tolerable levels. Meanwhile, I’m looking at my spring travel calendar hoping to get some relief from the winter headlock that Chicago is stuck in. Unfortunately, the first chance of the year for some really warm weather will not be mine.
This spring I will regrettably be missing the Midmarket CIO Forum taking place in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida due to a scheduling conflict. Instead, I’ll be presenting at Business Analytics Summit series. For this event series I’ll be traveling to Texas, New Jersey, and Canada (Twice!) for events but not sunny Florida.

Midmarket CIO Forum: What it is
The Midmarket CIO Forum (MMCIO) is a conference specifically designed for IT executives who get the opportunity to interact with vendors like IBM in a much more intimate setting than you’ll find at any large scale event. In a way it’s really like match making, picture speed dating crossed with an online dating site and what you get is MMCIO. Both vendors and buyers fill out profiles prior to the conference and end up being matched with the vendors/buyers that have similar interests. This allows us to share our software and solutions with IT leaders that are looking at Business Analytics to impact their organization.
This year our group has expanded its presence at MMCIO. We have our first keynote presentation that will be delivered by our very own Eric van Beijnhem, Business Unit Executive WW Midmarket Sales and BPLM Programs. We have also increased our presence in the boardroom sessions that highlight this event. Over a two-day period we will have 6 boardroom sessions to discuss our software and solutions with small groups.
Eric will also be our presenter in the boardroom sessions and will be joined by Mark Mueller, who is a co-founder and managing partner of DataClarity Corporation. (DataClarity is an IBM Premier Business Partner who specializes in combining IBM technology with their own solutions to bring value to midsize and large organizations.) To round out the event we also have a solutions booth where attendees will be able to meet with us to have questions answered, see demos and discuss our solutions.
Why You Should Attend
What sets this event apart from many of the larger shows that I’ve attended is the small group interaction that is possible here. This is an invite only event that guarantees a high percentage of new prospects that will be exposed to our Business Analytics software portfolio. In larger settings, the messaging must be much more “middle of the road” to make sure to appeal to different roles within an organization. Here, we know exactly who we are speaking with and can focus our message to appeal to the needs of IT leadership. This means that we can talk to business intelligence, predictive analytics, and performance management in ways that matter most to IT.
Hope you can make this excellent event!
