Guest post from Eric Baxley, Marketing Director, IBM Business Analytics
Moving at high speeds – what could be more exhilarating? Growing up, I avidly followed Formula 1 racing in Germany and Austria, and now that I live and work in North Carolina I get to enjoy the heart-pounding thrills and chills of NASCAR racing.
Auto racing is certainly a sport that highlights the critical nature of achieving speed with precision, which got me thinking about some conversations I’ve had recently with people who use our IBM Business Analytics software.
What they’ve said is that, even though their business challenges are complex and the data they’re tapping to address these challenges is massive, they need solutions that are easy, fast and smart.
Easy to use and consume, so that their business users can access, use and understand the analytics they need to do their jobs effectively
Fast, so that their organization can quickly get value from analytics
Smart, with built-in expertise, so that end users can discover what’s really important in Big Data and can streamline critical business processes
You might think that’s a tall order, maybe even an impossible one; but you’d be mistaken.
For years, IBM has been working to make analytics not just more powerful but also more accessible to users who need to understand conditions quickly and take action – even though they may not be expert programmers or have PhDs in mathematics or statistics.
In just a few days, we’ll be taking the wraps off a number of new or enhanced software offerings that move the needle pretty far in the direction of easy, fast and smart. These products and solutions will help companies more easily get value from Big Data through analytics. They’ll help them provide that “aha” moment to business users via innovative data visualizations, even on mobile devices. They’ll help streamline and automate financial reporting processes. Analyze social media and market research data through cloud applications. And much more.
I invite you to join us for the Innovations in Business Analytics virtual event, June 11 from 10:30 – noon ET. During sessions in three tracks, you’ll hear our product experts describe these new offerings in detail. They’ll even offer some “test drives.”
I can’t say attending will transform you into a racing legend like Dale Earnhardt, Jr. – but it may transform your business. Hope to see you in the stands!
