One of great things about being a writer in our data-driven age is that the topics I can write about are as rich and as varied as the data itself. Data, data everywhere means stories, stories everywhere, now that data and the people who make the best use of it are doing everything from rewriting the rules of business to rewiring our brains to changing the way the world literally works (hint, hint).
Perhaps that's what makes the new series of IBM TV ads such compelling viewing. Not only do they help me explain to my family what it is IBM actually does, they explain the promise of our technology through IBMers themselves. The make the vast range of IBM software (of which Cognos and SPSS are a part), hardware and consulting accessible and, dare I say it, human.
