From FlowingData and Tim Beauchamp comes great news for data visualization fans: Edward Tufte, the dean of data visualization, is joining the Recovery Independent Advisory Panel, who will advise The Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board. The Board's purpose is to track and explain how the $787 billion in stimulus funds is being put to use.
"I'm doing this because I like accountability and transparency, and I believe in public service," Tufte writes in his blog.
Fans of Tufte and, by extension, Stephen Few, know the premium he places on clarity in communications. That he's applying his principles here is a welcome development, indeed.
