Earlier this week I wrote about how IBM is building the world's biggest private BI cloud using Cognos software. Today, I point the IOD EMEA Session Spotlight upward into the Cloud, one of the most exciting (and possibly most confusing) new approaches to deploying business intelligence.
Cloud fans? Hoo boy, are you in for a treat.
These two sessions feature the combined power of both Dziekan brothers (Christopher and Michael) and Dr. Anant Jhingran, whose musings - whether on his blog or in person - are definitely worth paying attention to.
Session ID: SB-3104: Battles on the Cloud: Public vs Private Cloud
Come and be part of this lively and interactive session on one of the most hotly debated technology topics today. Join in as IBM executives, Dr Anant Jhingran and Christopher Dziekan, as they share their views on the private cloud and public clouds. Which workloads are best for the private cloud and which for the public cloud? What are the benefits and tradeoffs? What’s right for you? You be the judge.
Session ID: BLD-2946: Private Cloud and the BICC - Strategic and Faster Deployment of BI
Through central, internal network accessed, virtual, web-based environments (Private Cloud), BICCs accelerate large scale user adoption of decisioning making capabilities, enable enterprise efficiency & deliver real value to the business. Not only implementing powerful web based PM business solutions, they are also leveraging the benefits of location independent resource pooling (scarce skills in business & IT). Often, unaware that they have actually already taken their first step into Cloud computing.
Counting down the days to Rome. Three weeks and a bit...
