Greeting's y'all, and welcome to Vision 2011, the Premier Event for Financial Management. I'm down here in Dallas to capture insights and observations from our keynote presenters. The event team has assembled an impresssive lineup of customers (HOLT CAT, Omron Healthcare, Time Warner), industry analysts (John Van Decker), and IBM business analytics executives (Rob Ashe, Mark Nashman, Doug Barton), not to mention former SEC Chair Christopher Cox.
Tonight, though, they've come for the barbecue. The event program promised "the best grub west of the Mississippi" and I can tell you that this particular grub did not disappoint. Whether it was the smoked brisket, the glazed short ribs, the shrimp or sweet potatoes, it took this humble scribe no fewer than three trips to the various stations to evaluate the offerings.
I'll have more substantial scribblings to offer tomorrow once the event really gets rolling. Until then, here are a few pictures of the opening reception to give you a flavor of the place.
