There are a lot of unpleasant consequences that can come of not having the right answer.
Now we can add instant, international embarrassment to that list.
Sven Kramer, the gold medal-winning speed skater from The Netherlands, wasn't too pleased when a reporter from NBC asked him to state his name, country and what he won.
"Are you stupid? Hell no. I'm not going to do that."
If you listen carefully, the reporter added afterwards that it was for "recording purposes," standard practice in broadcasting to confirm pronunciation (in this case, "KRAH-mer") and get the basics down. No matter. It's all over YouTube now:

The lesson? When the answers are that easy to find, there's no excuse not to have them. The risks are just too great.
