Lest you think I've forgotten about the financial performance management aspect of the Business Analytics program at IOD EMEA, here are two customer sessions focusing on my friends in the Office of Finance. Global Business Planning in Turbulent Times with Philips Consumer Lifestyle
Philips Consumer Lifestyle markets more than 8000 products globally (video, audio, domestic appliances, etc). The planning and forecasting process has been implemented on a global level within Philips Consumer Lifestyle. Marketing planning, sales planning, production planning and purchase planning are linked through IBM Cognos 8 Planning. This allowed Philips to cope with the recent turbulent economic times. The global stock levels and supply chains were adapted firmly and on short term to reduce costs and optimise results. The use of IBM Cognos 8 Planning is key in the strategic planning process and has measurably benefited Philips globally.

Integrated Planning Processes at PepsiCo Based on IBM Cognos TM1
session will show how integrated planning processes based on IBM
Cognos TM1 met the needs of the following planning areas: volume
planning, conditions planning, budget planning, cost center planning,
integrated P&L planning, and actual data integration and
forecasting, including cause of change reporting. The presentation
will also include a functional description and live demonstration of
the capabilities of the planning solution at PepsiCo.
