Power users can now uncover new insights by easily
assembling information in the warehouse with additional data sources in
eye-catching Web applications.
The InfoSphere Warehouse tool set has expanded to include
database administration, change management, and database application development
tools.Every edition of InfoSphere Warehouse 9.7 now
includes Optim Database Administrator 2.2.3 and Optim Development Studio
Also, InfoSphere Replication Server technology is now included in all
editions of InfoSphere Warehouse 9.7. Customers looking to provide high
availability can use bidirectional Q-Replication between a pair of source and
target DB2 data servers.
The Departmental and Departmental Base
editions have also been enhanced.Systems can now be
deployed inside virtual servers running on physical servers that exceed 4
processor sockets. The maximum amount of DB2 instance memory has doubled to 64
GB. With these changes, IT departments have more flexibility to consolidate
servers and deploy virtualized environments, saving on software costs, hardware
costs and space.
InfoSphere Warehouse Departmental Edition now includes features
previously restricted to the Enterprise Edition. Customers of the Departmental
Edition are now entitled to Optim Performance Manager and the Storage Optimization Feature for DB2.With Optim Performance
Manager 4.1, you can identify, diagnose, solve and prevent performance problems
before they impact the business. Storage optimization allows you to
transparently compress data and indexes to decrease disk space and improve query

Edition.You can now use Label Based Access Control (LBAC) to let you decide exactly who has write and read access to individual
