As I was reviewing the user guide for the new IBM Smart Analytics System 7700
, I came across a section that I thought is really useful for everyone, not just IBM Smart Analytics System clients. So, for your reading pleasure, I am giving you the inside scoop on how to sign up for user alerts from IBM Support. It's easy, quick and it means that you are getting the information you need sent out to you. No need to search for it!
By the way, the support subscriptions are not specific to InfoSphere Warehouse products, they apply to all IBM products. You can sign up for support alerts, organize them by folder, or just have them sent directly to your RSS feed.
To do this, you need to go to the My Notifications
sign in page for IBM Support.
Set up is straightforward - you just select the products you have in your environment, and the notifications you need, and then (if you are keen) you can even organize them into different folders. It took me about 5 minutes to set up a single folder that contained my alerts for all our data warehousing products. A few days later it was easy to go in and scan all the titles to decide which ones applied to my particular configuration. A weekly summary is also sent via email. This makes it very easy to share alerts with my team.
For example, if you want to sign up for InfoSphere Warehouse alerts, all you need to do is select:
Software -> Information Management -> InfoSphere Warehouse
It is that simple - and by the end of the week, you will receive alerts for the InfoSphere Warehouse software.
My challenge to you - sign up for alerts and let me know what you think!Kate Kurtz
