Last week, I wrote a post about the upcoming changes to the IBM Software Value Plus (SVP) program
. This week, I wanted to give you some more information about how these changes will affect Lotus Business Partners.
Effective February 28, 2011, Lotus Messaging and Collaboration software is moving to the the SVP authorized category. This means that Lotus Business Partners will need to meet SVP requirements in order to continue to resell Lotus Messaging Products, including Notes, Domino, Alloy, and Lotus Protector.
Business Partners who resell Lotus Notes and Domino must meet the following requirements:
- Enroll and participate in either VAP or SVI
- Value Advantage Plus (VAP): Requires an approved solution containing a product within the product groups you want to resell
- Software Value Incentive (SVI): Requires one sales and two technical certifications in the product group you want to resell
- You must be approved through the product group via SVI or have an approved VAP Solution that includes the product
- Create a PartnerPlan
Business Partners attending Lotusphere 2011 may take your certification tests while in Orlando at the event (see my recent post detailing everything Business Partners need to know about Lotusphere 2011
for more information about the conference and how to register).
If you have any questions about Lotus and Software Value Plus, you may visit the Lotus SVP readiness site
, or contact Stephanie Joy (email@example.com) or Bob Mahoney (firstname.lastname@example.org).
In addition, please don't forget to register
for the IBM Business Partner 2011 kick-off on January 25th 2011 at 11:00 a.m. EST, which will be hosted by Sandy Carter. Sandy will share more information on all of the upcoming changes to the SVP program, as well as how partners can plan for success and grow their businesses in 2011.
