IBM is committed to supporting an ecosystem of skilled IBM Business Partners. In support of that commitment, IBM will be moving several products from Open distribution to Software Value Plus (SVP) Authorized distribution.
Effective July 1, 2012, over 50 IBM products will be moving to SVP Authorized Product Groups. Affected Product Groups include Data Management, Lotus Messaging and Collaboration, Lotus Portal, SmartCloud for Social Business, Security Systems, Rational, Tivoli Automation, Tivoli Enterprise Asset Management, WebSphere Core, WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Business Process Management. Please check the Software Value Plus site for a complete list to confirm whether the products you remarket are affected. As of July 1, 2012, IBM Business Partner firms that wish to remarket any of the affected products will need to be authorized for appropriate Product Group(s) noted, which will require you to have an applicable IBM Business Partner Agreement in place, if you do not already have one.
For those IBM Business Partner who are already authorized for the affected Product Groups, no action is required.
For those PartnerWorld Participants who have not yet applied for SVP approval, certain requirements must be met before applying for SVP. Please review the eligibility requirements for SVP Product Group approval. After you have viewed the requirements, you may apply for Software Value Plus approval.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the above, please either contact your IBM representative or PartnerWorld Contact Services.
