Last week, Everything Channel hosted XChange Solutions Provider 2011, a conference for channel professionals. The conference brings together top solution providers from both established and emerging companies for a four-day event that provides insight into emerging channel trends, challenges and opportunities.
The theme for this year's conference was Succeeding in the New IT Economy, and cloud computing was certainly one of the hottest topics at the event. Channel execs and press alike took notice of IBM's new Cloud Computing Specialty and Software Value Plus Cloud Authorization (which will debut later this year). Perhaps the highlight of the conference for IBM, however, was the 2011 CRN Channel Champions Awards. The awards, which are based on the opinions of over 2,000 CRN readers, recognize overall satisfaction with vendors across several criteria, including technical satisfaction, support satisfaction and financial factors. Based on the results, awards were handed out in 25 categories.
This year, IBM was recognized in three of those categories:
Overall Winner, Midrange Servers
Overall Winner, Middleware Software
Overall Winner, Backup and Recovery Software
Accoring to CRN, IBM swept all three criteria in the Middleware and Backup and Recovery categories. IBM's Kevin Quarantello and Shaun Jones were there to accept the awards.
Thank you, IBM Business Partners, for your continued support! Together with you, we look forward to continued success in the new IT economy.
