On Sunday, March 4, 2012, the IBM Pulse 2012 conference kicked off with the Business Partner Summit. Every year, the conference plays host to over 8,000 attendees come from around the world to learn about the latest technology that is helping businesses fundamentally and cost-effectively change the economics of IT and speed the delivery of innovative products and services.
The Pulse 2012 Business Partner Summit
Traditionally, the Business Partner Summit is a day dedicated to IBM Business Partners, focused on providing executive insights into IBM Tivoli strategy and direction. This year was no exception, and the 2012 Business Partner Summit opened with a breakfast hosted by several IBM executives, including Ernest Jones, Brendan Hannigan and Jamie Thomas. Attendees received an introduction to the new IBM Security Systems division and upcoming Business Partner opportunities in security, as well as an overview of the IBM Tivoli market and solutions roadmaps.
Following the breakfast meeting, attendees were able to select from seven breakout session topics for deep dive discussions on strategic solutions, Tivoli’s direction, and how to leverage IBM and Tivoli resources. If you missed a session or are interested in accessing the presentation materials, you can now view the session presentations on PartnerWorld.
After lunch, attendees were treated to a keynote from guest speaker Alison Levine, as well as a discussion hosted by Lou Attanasio on the future of IBM's Tivoli portfolio and the characteristics of successful Tivoli Business Partners. A highlight of the Summit was an interactive Business Partner/client panel hosted by Mark Register, with representatives from Business Partners Sirius Computer Solution and Icaro Technologies, and customers CPS Energy and BP Global Services Brazil. The panel discussed how skills are key to driving more opportunity and the importance of being able to implement solutions with functionality from across the Tivoli portfolio.
