Analytics can be a powerful tool for educational institutions to improve outcomes. As an IBM education client representative, I’ve seen this first hand. Analytics can deliver valuable insights into areas such as student attrition rates, performance and use of resources – as IBM’s recent work with the University of Wollongong (UOW) demonstrates.
The University decided to upgrade to Cognos Business Intelligence 10 to help identify which groups of students were dropping out, and when. Their findings confirmed the long-held suspicion that the first four to six weeks of the first semester were critical.
To find out how UOW used analytics to drive real benefit, read the full case study available HERE.
If you’d like to talk in person about how IBM can help your education institution, visit us at Booth 55 at EduTECH 2013, June 3-5, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
