Starting today (December 16), IBM makes available new technology that allows IBM zEnterprise System customers to integrate Microsoft Windows applications into the mainframe environment – an industry first. An eWeek slide show explaining why this is a big deal – in fact, the slide show is titled, ‘11 Reasons IBM Mainframe Integration With Windows (and Linux) Is a Big Deal’ – continues to be one of the top two items in the December 2011 IBM Software Newsletter. You can find additional information on the IBM web site.
And speaking of deals for mainframe users: If you make your living with the mainframe, you have two good reasons to subscribe to the FREE IBM Software Newsletter (if you haven’t already). Reason One is that every issue connects you to important System z software-related news and content like the story described above (plus plenty of other news and content about IBM Software). Reason Two is that you can receive quarterly System z Special Editions of the newsletter that are packed with System z software content. (Our readers love these Special Editions – we know this because they click the heck out of them.) Just make sure you check the System z Software box when you subscribe. Do it now, so you don’t miss the January issue.
