Using the IBM Cognos Mobile Native iPad app you can import IBM Cognos BI Active Report content in the form of a .mht file.
The import can be performed within your email, from iTunes, or from an FTP file server.
To import from within your email, the .mht file must be sent to you. Once it is available in your Inbox, tap the attachment, and you will be presented with the option to open the file with your mail client or with IBM Cognos.
The Open in IBM Cognos option, downloads the report, and opens it in the native iPad app. All of the functionality associated with the Active report is available. The report is downloaded and added to an Imported Content space.
Note that, the reports inside this space are not subject to the MaxAgeDays limit. For more information on the session timeout period see the video titled “Work Offline”. For more information on the MaxAgeDays limit see the video titled "Browse the BI server".
To import Active Report content from iTunes, your iPad must be connected to your computer. Once your iPad is displayed in the iTunes window, click the Apps tab.
This tab displays all of the apps on the iPad that can transfer documents between the iPad and the computer, one of these being the IBM Cognos native iPad app. To add the MHT file, click the IBM Cognos app, click Add, navigate to, and select the file, and then click Open.
You will then synchronize the iPad with iTunes. Synchronizing downloads the report to the Imported Content space on the iPad. Note that, if there was previously no imported content on the app, synchronizing with iTunes would create the Imported Content space for you.
To import Active Report content from an FTP server, enter or access the URL in your Web browser.
On the Web page, tap the file name, and then tap Open in IBM Cognos. The report is downloaded to the Imported Content space, and then opens in the IBM Cognos native iPad app.
