Release 7 of the Support Portal went live at the end of last week. It included some back-end updates that should improve the performance of the portal. Others were general style updates to provide a better UI. Here are a few highlights:
- The Quick Start / Find a Product pages have been simplified. Additionally, a Products for me list has been added to the Find a Product page. You must sign in to use this new option, which will allow them to display their AVP products, inventories or supported software.
- Subscribe to notifications option under Downloads and Fixes in the Downloads tab. This link allows you to quickly sign up for notifications of new downloads or fixes of the products on their current product list.
- The Search Results: All link at the bottom of most portlet boxes was sometimes confusing, since it didn't always link to the search. This has been replaced with More or More results, as appropriate.
- Case-insensitvie URLs. When typing a link to a portal page in the address bar of your browser, you no longer have to use the title-case in the URL. So Clarity_7, clarity_7 and CLARITY_7 will all work equally well.
Highlights of the changes, including screenshots of the new features, can be seen in the Support Portal News blog and the IBM Electronic Support blog.
Please note - this article includes updates to the Search that have not yet been deployed. Those updates, and updates to Fix Central search, are planned for the near future.
