Gartner predicts that between now and the end of 2014, overlooked but easily detectable business process defects will topple 10 global 2000 companies. This is an incredible prediction and an outcome that is avoidable based on applying some of the principles, expertise, and software that we plan to discuss at InterConnect in the mini-main tent hot-topic session: “Transforming Critical Business Processes with IBM.”
Transforming Critical Business Processes with IBM will dive into the benefits achieved with the unique application of smarter processes and decisions and how this can enable Smarter Cities and innovative businesses to bring new value to customers, citizens, employees and partners. There will be a special emphasis on the processes and management of physical assets that cities and corporations manage on a large scale. Exceptions to processes, cases and analysis of process behavior and best practices will also be explored in particular detail. We'll dig into the expertise required to facilitate the necessary changes, expertise that resides both in-house in governments and corporations, and externally through partners and process consultants.
We have a very exciting line-up for this session, with Marie Wieck, GM of Application and Integration Middleware, hosting with a discussion about the pervasive need to improve process effectiveness and why it is a priority, and how to effectively apply technology to improve those processes efficiently, with examples of customers IBM has helped along the way. Marie Wieck is a visionary and thought-leader in technology so just coming to hear her speak will be well worth the admission fee!
We will also have a very exciting customer panel hosted by VP of WW Software Industry Solutions Marketing, Maria Winans, where the customers will discuss how IBM helped transform their processes for growth. We'll share expertise and insight from the world of process experts as a special guest from IBM Global Services speaks on how the improvement and transformation of mission critical processes can change industries and governments for the better.
CEO's recognize the need for improved capabilities and 7 out of every 10 are making major changes in their organizations to deepen their understanding of individual customer needs. I run the Global Business Process and Decision Management Marketing division at IBM – the division that helps CEOs gain this deeper understanding and transform their business for innovation and growth. It is our responsibility to ensure organizations understand the power of efficient processes combined with better decisions built on top of a Service Oriented Architecture. My job is to make sure this message, and the value and inherent within this message, is properly conveyed to the market so we can help push through innovation and growth for our customers. In addition to content creation, a proper go-to-market strategy is also at the backbone of what our group provides.
