For many, IBM's yearly Impact conference is a chance to see and hear the latest in application infrastructure and development, SOA, business process management and decision management from IBM. But what I like about the conference is that really, with all of the IBM Business Partners in attendance, it's a chance to see the latest technology from hundreds of companies and get a true flavor for the business trends and the future of IT in these areas.
What does an IBM Business Partner bring to the table at Impact 2012? IBM Business Partners come in all sizes, shapes and colors, but for starters, they all bring a unique set of expertise and innovative solutions. Some customers prefer working with IBM Business Partners because of a specific value-add they are seeking, whether it is service related, or whether it is a unique application built on IBM middleware. Others work with IBM Business Partners because of the specialized solutions they can provide, focused on a specific industry or market segment. And still others prefer the experience of working with a small business, but appreciate the comfort of dealing with a big brand they trust. Basically, these customers are getting savvy to the fact that you can have your cake and eat it too.
So what opportunities will you have at Impact 2012 to see what IBM Business Partners have been up to this year? First, there's obviously the sessions. Lots of IBM Business Partners will be presenting and sharing their unique brand of expertise this year, so if you want to learn something new, I'd recommend checking them out. As a case in point, T.Rob just posted on Monday about how he'll be doing a session with AJ Aronoff from IBM Business Partner Prolifics.
Second, there's the Solution Center. This is probably your best opportunity to network and view live demonstrations of IBM Business Partner Solutions. You can check out the list of IBM Business Partners who will be exhibiting at Impact this year and learn a little bit about what they do in advance of the conference.
And finally, there's my favorite: the IBM Impact Business Partner Awards. These awards, which recently opened for nominations, recognize IBM Business Partners for demonstrating excellence in delivering business value solutions over the past year. Last year's winners include Zobrist Consulting Group, PRAGMA S.A., Haddon Hill Group, Tech Data Azlan, Miracle Software Systems and Leveraging Technology. These companies really showcased some awesome solutions, so I'm excited to see what our IBM Business Partners will be bringing forward this year. (Psst. Partners: Nominations close at 11:55 p.m. EST on March 30, 2012, and can be submitted via the 2012 IBM Impact Business Partner Awards page on PartnerWorld.)
So, when you plan your agenda for Impact 2012, don't forget to check out what our IBM Business Partners have been up to over the past year. To connect with IBM Business Partners before the conference, you can find them in the IMPACT LinkedIn Group, on the IMPACT Facebook Page or when you suscribe to Impact Conversations. You can also always find an IBM Business Partner via the IBM Business Partner Locator.
Business Partners: why not make it even easier for customers to find you? Tell them where you'll be -- post your session, etc., in the comments section of this entry!
