This was a banner week for the Global WebSphere Community at IBM Impact 2013. We registered more than 500 new members, handed out thousands of buttons, posted dozens of articles and blogs about the show, and awarded hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes to our members. Here’s a summary of the amazing content, awards, and prizes delivered this week.
Thousands of GWC members stopped by our GWC “Register and Race” Racing Area in Level 2 Sands Foyer to take a spin around the race track and get their chance to win either a Nexus 7, Nook HD, or Bose Headset, plus bragging rights! Visit the GWC ImpactZone for a list of the fastest WebSpherians in Vegas this week, as well as all of the contest winners from the week!
As I mentioned, hundreds of new members joined the GWC this week. Each day we awarded one of those new members a $100 AmEx gift card. We have one more $100 gift card to award today, so it’s not too late to come to 3rd Floor Foyer West today (from 9:00 am - Noon), register for your free GWC membership, and be entered to win!
We also hosted a digital car dashboard in the GWC Racing Area, and only three lucky members’ keys would get that engine to rev. Each of these lucky few won a Kindle Fire HD!
The GWC “Holler Back at Impact” Social Media Contest rewarded members who posted about their experiences at Impact (and used #GWC). Each day we had a daily drawing for a $50 AmEx Gift Card to thank our loyal social supporters. We have one more $50 gift card to award today, so it’s not too late to tweet out using #GWC and be entered to win! You do have to be a follower of @websphereorg to be eligible.
Not yet a GWC Twitter follower? Change that by following @websphereorg today!
Last, but certainly not least, yesterday we hosted a Leader Appreciation Luncheon for the leaders of our local and virtual WebSphere User Groups, or “WUGs” as we call them. In addition to the thank you gifts we awarded the teams for their efforts in engaging their WUGs, we honored the achievements of two WUG teams who went above and beyond the call of duty. For more information on the WUG Leadership Awards and the winners, head over to the GWC 2013 Impact Zone.
