IBM had a great presence at today's XChange conference held in Los Angeles, CA this week at the Hyatt Century Plaza hotel. The conference keynote speaker was IBM Software Group Vice President of Worldwide Business Partner Marketing, Shaun Jones. Shaun's session was standing room only. He spoke about the value of new programs like Software Value Plus and IBM technology services to help partners bring solutions to customers. He also stressed the importance of rapid financing to help close deals.
In his keynote, Shaun stressed that IBM Partners are looking for smarter ways to manage infrastructures that are under pressure from new technologies and which are not future-proofed. For instance, businesses experienced a 10-fold increase in digital data growth from 2007 to 2011, with 80 percent of that growth coming from unstructured data which requires a focused effort to analyze and understand. At the same time, IBM expects there will be 1 trillion devices connected to the Internet by 2011, with 500,000,000 GBs, or a half-zetabyte, of
data traffic going over the Internet by 2013 ."That's, what, a '5' with 21 zeros," he said. "That's what we are all
trying to manage."
Among the items Shaun mentioned for partners to take advantage of:
If you are interested in cloud computing, stop by IBM's session on the Cloud today, March 9th from 1:45 to 2:45 in the Westwood Room at the Hyatt Century Plaza. If you're in Los Angeles, we hope to see you Wed, March 10th at the Channel Champions Dinner at the Hyatt Century Plaza. This dinner provides the Channel with an Academy Awards type event to recognize top performers and best practices. IBM is keeping our fingers crossed and toes too for some winning news!
