It's no secret that Oracle has bought Sun. The IT and technology news wires have been burning up with the news. Twitter has also been on fire with remarks about the deal, and what it means for resellers. To respond to the news, and the concerns of some sellers, IBM has put together what the blog IT BULLETins has called a" Sun Reseller Bailout." That's a humorous name for a package that actually yields real, and significant financial benefits for Business Partners that sold Sun. With this offering, Sun resellers may want to take a new look at IBM. IBM is offering financing to partners of Sun Microsystems Inc., the server- computer maker acquired by Oracle Corp. this year. As much as $500 million will be available for Sun partners who switch to selling IBM systems -- integrated servers, software and storage -- to their clients. This financing is a great oppportunity for Sun resellers to painlessly transition to selling IBM. The half billion dollars can be used by qualifying resellers for working capital, inventory financing, end-user financing, etc. In a tough economy, this package should be attractive to resellers.
The announcement is complimented by the following new sales resources and a new incentive to help our existing IBM Business Partners win against the competition while doubling their money.
