IBM just introduced more enhancements to the Software Value Incentive (SVI), making it easier for IBM Business Partners to do business with us. Last year we announced a simplified SVI payment process.
The new enhancements build upon that announcement with more improvements that are designed to streamline both the opportunity creation and claiming processes. The new enhancements are part of the goal to make 2010 the year of the IBM Software Business Partner. Here's the detail about how it works, plus some links to more information.
A new, simplified customer opportunity form is now available for submitting SVI opportunities. The new form eliminates unnecessary or redundant information requests and is tailored to fit your local sales environment. This new form makes the opportunity submission process much easier for your sales team to complete.
Additionally, IBM PartnerWorld has released a new Global Partner Portal tool: B2B Opportunity Management Add-in in Excel. This tool allows you to manage your opportunities more efficiently from a single Excel spreadsheet and enables you to upload or download information directly into Global Partner Portal. It is especially helpful when you are submitting multiple opportunities or prefer to work offline.

You will recall that we announced the SVI Sales Documentation Waiver in November 2009. This improvement made the SVI claiming process much easier and the feedback has been very positive. Now, there are new enhancements to the claiming, registering and processing of claims that you need to be aware of.
