IBM is announcing intent to acquire Cúram Software Ltd. – the leading
provider of solutions for social programs
In a move that extends IBM leadership in Smarter Cities,
IBM announced intent to acquire Curam Software Ltd., the leading provider of
solutions for social programs, including health & human services, workforce
services, and social security organizations – bolstering Smarter Cities
and the citizens they serve.
Cúram software is used in more than 80 government agency projects around
the world to provide the timely access to the right social programs, deliver
integrated services through those programs, and drive improved outcomes and
reduced costs. The citizen-centered solutions address the increasing complexity
and growing needs for social programs while delivering efficiency and improved
Cúram’s capabilities and expertise will advance the IBM Smarter Cities
initiative, which focuses on driving sustainable growth by leveraging
information to make better decisions, anticipating problems to resolve them
proactively, and coordinating resources and process to operate effectively.
This acquisition will extend IBM’s ability to provide transformative business
solutions and services to cities and governments globally.
Together, IBM and Cúram will help leaders around the world achieve
breakthrough efficiency and new levels of citizen-centered service – delivering
improved outcomes, total integrated service delivery and total cost reduction.

In addition to end-to-end solutions for social programs, the acquisition of
Cúram brings the expertise of 700 employees. After the closing, Cúram will be
integrated into the Industry Solutions division of the IBM Software Group.
