How can ECM Business Partners sell ICC now that IBM FileNet is under Software Value Plus
Effective April 1st, 2011, IBM completed the convergence of Software ValueNet (SWVN) into Software Value Plus (SVP). With this convergence, the IBM FileNet authorized group of products is now offered under SVP; for details of the convergence of IBM FileNet SWVN into SVP, please see click here.
How ECM Business Partners can sell ICC after April 1st under SVP?
ICC, similar to other products previously in Software ValueNet (SWVN), becomes part of the SVP FileNet authorization group starting April 1.
What does this mean for Business Partners who are currently already authorized for SVP Heritage CM and want to resell ICC? For obtaining the IBM FileNet authorization under SVP, one sales and two technical sales certifications are needed as listed in the list of qualifying IBM FileNet SVP certifications. The requirement for two technical sales certifications is met when 2 Business Partner employees achieves 1 of the required technical certifications or when 2 technical certifications have been achieved.
To make this as straightforward as possible, the following SVP Heritage CM certifications also qualify for IBM FileNet SVP authorization:
Sales: Information Management Enterprise Content Management Solution Sales Professional v1
Technical: IBM Information Management InfoSphere Content Collector Technical Professional v1
So check on your current certifications to see whether you can obtain the SVP FileNet authorization directly or whether there is any gap. Extending your SVP authorization to include both ECM SVP authorization groups is of general value beyond ICC and thus recommended so that you can offer solutions built on top of the entire IBM ECM portfolio (e.g., also Datacap Taskmaster).
