IBM Content Collector V2.2 (ICC) is an ECM-based content collection and archiving solution which supports email, file systems and Microsoft SharePoint. Part of IBM’s Information Lifecycle Governance portfolio, ICC collects from source systems, then archives and manages the lifecycle of content to help customers comply with laws, regulations or policies. Much more than “straight through” archiving, ICC uses its internal features such as metadata extraction and de-duplication to provide additional value during the archive phase. The broader IBM ECM portfolio can also be invoked to automatically classify documents based on the analysis of the content, to manage based on the business value of the content and to automate business processes where this content participates in the workflow.
