Why is it so hard to find out the functions of IBM products and how they work? Case in point: Tivoli Monitoring for Energy Management, http://www-01.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/monitor-energy-management.

Features and benefits are really generic and don't say much about how energy use is actually measured, displayed in context, and analyzed. System requirements say nothing about sensors. Product library links leads to nothing about install and configuration.
I want to find out:
--what this product does, in detail, including what's measured (IT equipment, non-IBM infrastructure such as CRAC units, breakers)
--how it does it (wired sensors, wireless, something else)
--sample displays
--what I can do with this that justifies the expense
--is this stand alone or an add on to some huge, pre-requisite infrastructure.
I don't want to go to events. I want the information available on the web to be useful and complete.

Richard, try this document for IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Energy Management Installation and Usage information: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v15r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.itmem.doc/welcome.htm

Thanks for taking the time to post on the ability to find useful information on the IBM Software Product pages. I will be using your feedback to make changes to the IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Energy Management web pages, and will also forward your comments to the team with overall responsibility for the IBM Software web presence.
