What are the 2 things that generate "success" for the patrons of public transportation? Hands down I'd say it's arriving safely & on-time. These can also be the same things that keep people from becoming new patrons of public transportation. The concern over being on-time to work, based on previous experience, has kept my friend George from taking public transportation on a regular basis. But now increased traffic and new tolls are making George take a new look at his local rail system. More on George later.........
As cities expand, public transportation is on the minds of governments as well as citizens. That's why having a proven enterprise asset management solution is so important.
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Rail Conference, in Dallas, TX, June 3-6, 2012, is an excellent place to learn more about the IBM solutions that many rail clients across the world are using to successfully address their city's challenges.
Listen to my sneak preview with Mike Stasiewicz, Maximo Technical Sales Leader, about the IBM Maximo Asset Management solutions and IBM Smarter Rail solutions that we'll be demonstrating at the APTA Rail Conference this year at Booth 307.
It will be interesting to learn whether my friend George arrives to work on time..........or gets that inheritance Mike mentions! I'd say a win/win either way!
Register today & join us at Booth 307.
In next week's blog, Mike will dive deeper into Positive Train Control (PTC) ........ be sure to read it.
