On the heels of a successful showing at Pulse 2011, smarter buildings returns to Pulse 2012 as part of the Smarter Physical Infrastructures stream. The stream also includes tracks for Enterprise Asset Management (7 tracks), Integrated Workplace Management Systems (2 tracks) and Smarter Cities (1 track).
In 2011, smarter buildings was part of our EAM track and we relied heavily on our Maximo customers who use that product to manage and maintain their facilities to build what turned out to be a great agenda of breakout sessions. This year, with the release of IBM Intelligent Building Management, the track includes customers who are blazing a new trail to integrate energy and facilities operations. At the same time, they're getting their facilities and operations teams to collaborate and are using the new solution (released in June of 2011) to track and manage energy usage as well as manage the infrastructure assets allow their buildings to operate. And let's not forget about the building itself, or the "space". Smarter buildings not only focus on energy and operations, but also on managing space. If you can get a handle on your space usage, energy savings will follow, as well as reduced operating costs.
I urge you to consider the 11 breakouts, 2 Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, and the Expo session to learn about smarter buildings and IBM Intelligent Building Management. And you'll want to round out your personal agenda with a trip to the IBM TRIRIGA track to learn more about the space and facilities management, facilities maintenance, real estate portfolio management, project management and energy & environmental management solutions that are now part of our smarter buildings offerings.
I hope to see you at Pulse 2012 in Las Vegas this March!
