Today's blog comes from Dave Calvert.
What landscapes in our world change faster and more frequently than that of the world of mobility? Trying to stay on top of all of the technological and device enhancements is a daunting task for sure. Our approach toward our mobility options for Maximo has pretty much been to focus on the operating systems that we support, allowing the customer the freedom to choose the device that meets the fiscal and technological needs of their organization. As such, we constantly are trying to add additional support for the mobile operating systems deemed most critical by our Maximo customers.
It is with great pleasure that we now offer Blackberry support for Maximo Everyplace. Customers utilizing Blackberry devices leveraging BB OS6 and beyond may now access critical Maximo applications from their Blackberry! This support will apply to Maximo Everyplace 7.5 as well as Maximo Everyplace 7.1.1 running on Maximo 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199.
This now means that the Maximo Everyplace product supports an even wider range of operating systems and devices including Mobile Safari (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), as well as Android devices running Android 2.1 and beyond. Blackberry compliments this group well, offering users both keyboard and touch screen capabilities through a range of devices using BB OS6.
For those reading about Maximo Everyplace for the first time, Maximo Everyplace is a versatile mobile add-on to Maximo that, quite simply, allows Maximo users to access their role specific Maximo applications from their mobile device. The design of the Maximo Everyplace product utilizes the device browsers to access Maximo. It leverages Maximo’s Application Designer to create role specific mobile applications that can easily be tailored to meet the specific requirements of the mobile user in virtually any role.
