Now that I have your attention, I wanted to let you know about a recent webcast, an upcoming webcast, and our participation at an industry trade show.
Let's start with the webcast that took place this past Wednesday, September 14th. As many of you may be aware, IBM recently published a white paper that was compiled by TRIRIGA and Gartner called "Crossing the sustainability chasm: strategies and tactics to achieve sustainability goals" that covers the primary findings from the Sustainable Asset Management Survey conducted by the companies. The survey questions covered all aspects of energy and environmental programs, with an emphasis on how facilities and technology contribute to meeting sustainability goals. The study found that while ninety-two percent of organizations have established environmental sustainability and energy performance goals, only a third have “crossed the sustainability chasm” and actually achieved their sustainability objectives. Coming up next week on Wednesday, September 21 is a webcast that I eluded to in my subject entitled "Integrate facilities management and IT to reduce energy and operating costs". This smarter buildings webcast, with speakers from TRIRIGA, Tulane University and IBM, will help you learn how facilities and IT managers can take advantage of a holistic view of building information, analyze that information, and identify asset optimization opportunities to lower energy and operating costs. Register for the upcoming webcast here.
And last but not least, if you are a member of IFMA, or if you are planning to be out i the Phoenix area in October, come see us at IFMA World Workplace 2011 to learn how to make your buildings smarter. The event takes place at the Phoenix Convention Center from October 26- 28, 2011. IBM will be in booth 2003, and we will also be speaking about our sustainability report in a breakout session.
We hope to see you online and in Phoenix!
p.s. Your buildings are talking...can you hear what they are saying?
