IBM announced today plans to acquire Kenexa. This is an exciting announcement for lots of reasons that Alistair Rennie describes in today's blog entry for the Social Business Insights Blog.
The human resources line of business at IBM has long been excited about the use of social capabilities to enhance mentoring practices, to identify key emerging talent across the organization, and to provide more innovative ways to build professional and leadership talent. I hope you will read Alistair's blog for more details.

On May 18th at 12pm ET, we live-streamed a special program from New York City containing exciting news around the IBM social collaboration capabilities. This special event complemented our activities at DNUG in Bonn, Germany with DNUG and the IBM Exceptional Web Experience Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Alistair Rennie, Jeff Schick, and Caleb Barlow shared some very good customer stories such as Reliance Insurance, the US Open, and the City of Fort Worth. They also highlighted just some of the new capabilities in IBM Connections, Sametime, and LotusLive. Ted Stanton finished off the hour with a wonderfully rich demo showing off some of these new capabilities. Nothing helps more to understand these new features than to see them in action. I loved the Blackberry and iPad elements myself.
