One of the most memorable aspects of Lotusphere 2012 and Connect 2012 were the many customer presentation found in both events. Just one of the great stories is that of how TD Bank is using IBM social software as told by Wendy Arnott. Wendy is the VP of social media and digital communications at TD Bank. She told the TD Bank story on Tuesday morning during the wonderful Day Two General Session hosted by Mike Rhodin. The session, recorded and now available for playback on the IBM Social Business Aggregator Livestream Channel, is a great combination of energizing speakers on why and how businesses are becoming social. I would HIGHLY recommend you watch it. Wendy's presentation, the second in the session starting at about 17 minutes in) provides powerful examples on how TD Bank is using IBM Connections to genuinely engaging the workforce in transparent conversations around challenging business changes (such as the suggestion of working on Sunday!).
Wendy also spoke on IBM's behalf to the New York Times business reporter, Steve Lohr. Her comments are included in a New York Times article that appeared on Monday, January 16 called 'IBM makes its social computing strategy smarter' just as Lotusphere 2012 was kicking off. This article even includes screen shots of IBM Connections on a variety of devices. As far as I know, this is the first time IBM Connections appeared in the business section of New York Times. It is proof, I believe, that the growing number of compelling customer stories appearing at industry events and in the press demonstrate that a social business strategy is becoming a required part of any successful organization's business and IT strategy!

Happy New Year!
And that means that Lotusphere 2012 is just a couple weeks away. We also have a companion event that is co-located with Lotusphere this year called Connect 2012.
Here are some things to do in preparation for the events, even if you are not attending in person!
