Deleting an isolated region or workflow system

Deleting an isolated region removes all of the current data and database tables. Deleting the workflow system additionally removes the workflow system properties that apply to all isolated regions in the workflow system.

About this task

When you use the administration console to delete the last connection point for an isolated region, the isolated region is automatically removed. When you delete the last connection point to the last isolated region, the workflow system properties are removed. Although removing the workflow database removes the transferred workflow definitions, it does not remove the links between the definitions and the document class or individual document in an object store.
Attention: This behavior is different from previous releases, where there was no link between deleting connection point and isolated region objects and removing the actual workflow system tables. If you currently have production data in your workflow system, back up the corresponding database before you remove the last connection point.
Tip: If you intend to use this workflow system again and want to retain the workflow system properties, initialize the last region instead of deleting the last connection point.

Procedure

To delete an isolated region:

  1. In the administration console, select the connection points for the isolated region:
    • For a workflow system:
      1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store.
      2. In the object store navigation tree, click the Administrative > Workflow System > Connection Points folder.
      3. In the Connection Points tab, select all the connection points.
    • For a legacy workflow system:
      1. In the domain navigation pane, click the legacy workflow system.
      2. In the legacy workflow system navigation tree, click the Connection Points folder.
      3. In the Connection Points tab, select all the connection points.
  2. Click Actions > Delete Connection Point.

What to do next

After you initialize a region, you must prune the data for the same region in the IBM® FileNet® Case Analyzer database.
