IT01208: THE SYSTEM ATTEMPTS TO POWER ON A COMPUTE NODE THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A system that has a compute node removed did not have
  the compute node removed from the System Console hardware page
  and events referencing it continued to be generated.
  
  The events are similar to the following:
  CWZIP1885W Deleting the compute node because it is no longer
  installed in the chassis and the compute node does not contain
  any virtual machines.
  
  Missing Compute Node in Rack 8278/SRVG02 Chassis 1 Bay 3
  
  CWZIP6167E The hypervisor deployment failed for the compute
  node: [SERVER_ID] chassis: 1, and bay: 3. The compute node
  cannot be powered on.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• On the W1700 PureApplication System the code was
  checking connection return code messages to identify when a
  compute node had been removed. It was missing an identifying
  return code message.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been updated to recognize the missing connection
  return code.
